A distraught Tennessee man has sued fast-food chain Popeyes, for running out of its popular chicken sandwiches which unexpectedly became an online sensation in the last few weeks.  Craig Barr accused Popeyes of false advertising, deceptive business practices and causing him to waste "countless time driving" to and from local chains to find the sandwich in the lawsuit he filed.  He also recalled being laughed at by his friends and also scammed of $25 by a man who posted a Craigslist ad claiming he could get sandwiches a restaurant was hiding in the back.  "I can't get happy; I have this sandwich on my mind. I can't think straight," he told the Times Free Press. "It just consumes you." While the food company fast-food outlet is yet to release a statement on the lawsuit, Barr said he is seeking $5,000 in damages after suffering a tire damage and cracking one of his rims during the search. 

The Nigerian Government on Thursday August 29, disclosed that 1,460 persons have been killed in 330 attacks by bandits across the nation in 2019. The Permanent Secretary of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation's office on Special Services, Amina Shamaki made the disclosure at the federal and states security administrators’ meeting in Kebbi state. Shamaki said the north-west which was one of the most peaceful region before the bandit attacks, has remained a major source of concern even though the killings have been on the decline.  “From January to July, 2019, about 330 attacks were recorded, resulting to the death of about 1,460 civilians,” NAN quoted her as saying. “However, between June and July, 2019, the number of incidents declined, especially in Zamfara state, that had been the epicentre of armed banditry.” The permanent secretary also attributed the decline to the combination of “kinetic and non-kinetic measures” introduce...

Meek Mill's 12-year long case has ended after he pleaded guilty to a misdemeanour gun charge in a plea deal. The US rapper was granted a new trial in July because judges ruled that his original trial in 2008 had credibility issues with the arresting officer. The judge in the new trial decided the two years Meek Mill had already spent in prison was enough. Judge Leon Tucker said: "I know this has been a long road for you and hopefully this will be the end of it." Meek Mill took to Twitter to thank his supporters after it was revealed that he's no longer on probation. 26-year-old Franca Amaha, pictured above, has been arrested by men of the Lagos state police command, for stealing N1.6million cash in foreign currencies belonging to her boss just six hours after resuming as a househelp in her house situated in Surulere. According to the police, Amaha who is from Cross Rivers State had approached an employment agent for a domestic job on July 24, 2019 using a fake name, address and guarantor. Shortly after, she was assigned to one Mrs Taiye at Masha area of Surulere, Lagos. 73 houses and 28 shops were set ablaze by Boko Haram insurgents in an attack launched at three Borno State villages on Thursday August 22.  Borno state governor, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum disclosed that three Local Government Areas; Gubio, Magumeri and Konduga, have been attacked in the last one week. He also said that he has complained to President Buhari about the increased attacks by Boko Haram in the state while revealing that the chairperson of the State Emergency Management Agency, Hajiya Yabawa Kolo notified him of the recent attack. The Governor assured residents and community leaders affected ‎by the attack of immediate reconstruction of houses destroyed. Following the arrest of 80 people including Nigerians based in Los Angeles by the FBI for involvement in romance scams and wire fraud, the US Federal Trade Commission has released a report on scams that prey on vulnerable people cost Americans more money than any other fraud reported to the agency last year. According to the new report, more than 21,000 people were scammed into sending $143 million in such schemes in 2018 alone. "Reports indicate the scammers are active on dating apps, but also on social media sites that aren't generally used for dating. For example, many people say the scam started with a Facebook message," the FTC says. 10 suspected internet fraudsters were on Wednesday August 21, arrested at their hideout in an early morning operation by Operatives of the Benin Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, in Sapele, Delta State. The arrest was triggered by intelligence received by the Commission. The suspects are Abuwa Marvis, Ikpasa Efe, Abraham Idede, Maye Edefeose, Ovie Akpojevuehe and Akpotor Okeoghene. Others are Abuwa Jeffery, Ehirouture Precious, Best Lucky and Lucky Desmond. Items recovered from them include lap top computers, mobile phones, flash drives, internet modems and charms (voodoo). The Commission also recovered a Toyota Venza from one of the suspect. The suspects have made useful statements and will be charged to court as soon as investigation is completed.

A Twitter user, @GospelJosiah has alleged that some FBI Agents are currently in Nigeria working with informants and Interpol extradition team to crack down on fraudulent Nigerians. 'Do you know FBI Agents are already in Nigeria working with informants and Interpol extradition team in place. It's going to be a freaky end of 2019.'
