General Abdelaziz al-Fagham, the personal bodyguard of Saudi Arabia’s King Salman has been shot dead and seven others wounded, including securitymen, during an altercation at a friend’s home. Late Fagham, who was frequently seen by the king’s side, died Saturday evening in the western city of Jeddah, police said in a statement reported by the official Saudi Press Agency. “Fagham was visiting his friend at his home in Jeddah when (an) acquaintance, Mamdouh al-Ali, entered the residence. The conversation between Fagham and Ali escalated… Ali left the home, came back carrying a gun and fired at Fagham, injuring two others in the household, a Filipino worker and brother of the house’s owner” the statement said. George Barkhuizen, a South African businessman has been sentenced to life in jail in the Gauteng High Court in Johannesburg for the murder of his wife, Odette who was killed in what was initially thought to be a hijacking four years ago.   He was also handed 15 years for fraud, six years for the possession of an illegal firearm and two years for the possession of illegal ammunition.     Weeks before his wife was killed in June 2015, Barkhuizen allegedly took out an insurance policy worth R7.5million which is about N172,500,000.     Odette, 43, was shot in the head and chest and after it was initially believed that her murder was linked to a hijacking, Barkhuizen became the prime suspect.     Barkhuizen had sent his insurer an email asking if they would pay out if she died in a hijacking, it emerged during court proceedings.     At the time of the murder, the couple's marriage was going through rough...

Legendary latin singer,  José José , best known as "the prince of song" has died at the age of 71.  The Mexican singer who was one of the most popular singers in Latin America died on Saturday, September 28, in the United States after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. José, whose real name was  José Rómulo Sosa Ortiz , reportedly began to experience vocal problems in 2000 and lost his voice several times, which left him unable to perform. In March 2017, he confirmed that he was hospitalized after losing weight, which revealed a small tumor in his pancreas. Born in Mexico City in February 1948, José had his first big break in 1970, when he represented Mexico at the Latin Song Festival II, the predecessor to the annual OTI Festival. His song, “El Triste,” finished in third place to a standing ovation and was a huge success in Mexico. Paul Pogba  has reportedly told  Manchester United  to increase his weekly salary to £600k (£30million-a-year).  The Frenchman who has been linked with a move away from Manchester United to Juventus and Real Madrid asked for huge wages in an effort to force a move in January.  According to Tuttosport, the midfielder who is currently on around £300,000-a-week would like to see that amount increased massively to around £600k-a-week. Pogba has two years left on his contract, and United have an option to extend his contract for another year. But the footballer may call it a quit if his new demands is not met.  Back in 2016, Manchester United completed the transfer of Paul Pogba from Juventus for a world-record transfer fee of £89m.

A French court has found former England international flanker, Steffon Armitage guilty of sexual assault and handed him a suspended prison sentence for groping a woman outside a bar.   Armitage, 34, admitted grabbing the woman's breasts during a drunken night out at the end of 2018 in the southwestern French town of Pau, where he was playing at the time. The Pau court suspended the sentence for six months and ordered him to pay the victim 5,000 euros ($5,500) compensation. Defence lawyer Jean-Philippe Debruge said the backrow forward had been drinking heavily because he had been dropped by Pau for a game against Gloucester the next day. He said Armitage was also  "struggling to prepare for his life after rugby and his grandmother had died."     A lawyer for the victim, Carole Sesma, said her client was still shocked by the attack and disgusted at  "being treated like a sexual object.
